About Joy

Joy Forrest is the founder and Executive Director of Called to Peace Ministries* and author of contributor to the 2020 version of Divorce Care and the IBCD Counseling Domestic Abuse video training for counselors. Joy is equipped to speak to serious issues like physical and emotional abuse, but her message is relevant to women from all walks of life. Believing that too many fail to walk in the abundant life God offers His children, she focuses her lessons on practical steps to victory.  Her passion is to help people overcome thoughts, choices, and strongholds that prevent them from realizing God’s best for their lives.

Joy holds an M.A. in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has served in church counseling ministry since 2005. She is also a certified advocate with the NC Coalition Against Domestic Violence.  In her spare time, Joy loves traveling and spending time with her family– especially her 10 grandchildren.  For more information or to request a speaking engagement, contact her.

*The goal of CTPM is to offer hope and healing to victims of domestic violence and emotionally destructive relationships. Its twofold mission is: 1) to provide practical assistance and counsel to individuals affected by domestic abuse and  2) to educate organizations and helpers to better respond to these crises through training and mentoring. For more information, visit  www.calledtopeace.org.
